Season 29 - Week 10

Hi y'all. That's the first mini season over for this year. The winners and losers will take their step into the spotlight right now:

Ladies and gentlemen the winner of the Pele league

Mr Andy Ewart.

The winner Andy Ewart took the title with a win for Bayer 04 Leverkusen @0.91. he swapped places with Ross Jones who finished second.

At the bottom WART had a big win with Burnley away @ a generous 1.63 and it carried him up to mid table respectability and more importantly safety. A win also for James Delahunt with Portsmouth at home @0.91 meant the Daniel Cook went down along with the other longer term casualties this season.

Ladies and gentlemen The winner of the Maradona league:

we've known for a while that the winner barring a miracle pick would be Mr Ian Menzies

He lost this week but had done enough previously.

Ian is also the Overall league winner for this season and he takes his place in the hall of fame. A good season for Mr Menzies. Will he sweep all aside in the Pele next term???

The second place was taken by sheer force with the pick of the week a spanish shocker Elche CF beating Real Betis away @ a whopping 4.00 to climb into the 2nd place and promotion Mr Martyn Cornwell.

Mart climbed up from 4th to take 2nd place from Nick Lines. The bottom three going down remain as were.

Ladies & gentlemen the winner of the Dalglish league:

Mr Mervyn Davies

Mervyn had a win this week with Reading @0.62 and because Didier slipped up they swapped places with Merv taking top spot 23p ahead of Didier Segovia who finished second and joins merv in the pele next season.

There were wins for M Gibbons with P'boro @0.50 and Robert Kean with Killie at home @1.25 (unfortunately not enough to save him from the drop) and David Rosser who had 2nd best pick of the week with non league Alfreton Town winning a thriller 3-2 to get him 2.75 and carry him to safety at the expense of Dickson Pato.

Ladies & gentlemen the winner of the Shearer league:

Mr Ian Booth

There were winners for the top four here but in varying amounts. Ian Booth went safe with Chelski @0.22 but it was enough.

In second place ME! (woohoo) I went for safe bet Peterborough @0.50. get in.

wins also for Robert Paton with Annan at home @0.44 and Ayako Ono who went for Hartlepool at home @0.91 with a little more neve and bigger picks could have been so different!!

Ladies & Gentlemen the winner of the Lineker league:

Mrs Stephanie Cook

Steph was the only winner in this league this week and it was enough to take the title she won with Leicester at home @0.62.

Second place was Chris Hinch who forgot the Andros Townsend factor and went for a draw but he still stays second. Pete Cornwall misses out and throws himself on the mercy of the committee.

Ladies & gentlemen the winner of the Gascoigne league:

PAT scored well with the joint second best pick she went for Charlton away @2.75 that catapulted her to the top spot.

In second stayed Darryn Cook despite the late leveller for Southampton against Man Utd.

There was also a win for Duncan with chelski @0.22.

Ladies & gentlemen the winner of the Jason Lee league:

Mr Ben Warman

Ben was the only winner in this league and cemented his top spot with The Arse @0.25. Possible goal of the season (until the Fulham goal tonight..the ball comes over I chested it down and bang right past the keeper)

In second place was Jim Mclean who joins Ben in promotion.

Ladies and etc etc (come on i've got another job to go to january!!)

Yes thats right the winner of the Ali Dia league is:

Mr Phillip Hocknell

Phil, if I may be so bold, has done well this season they all have. The top three would have got promotion in most leagues. He won this week with PNE away @1.20 to leapfrog Hodgie333 and winit .

Second place Hodgie333 went ICT and got pricked by Partick Thistle he finished second by 34p. Also getting promotion from this league is third place Chris Cann who went mega mega safe with Bayern Munich at home @ 0.10.

The Holdsworth will join us from next week. Notably Lee Denson who has picked winners two weeks running.

That's that for one season. Its all Square again for next week. lets have it.
